IITR Recruitment 2025: The Indian Institute of Toxicology Research (IITR) has formally started the recruiting process for the Junior Stenographer position. For the four available posts, interested parties may apply online at iitr.res.in, the institute’s official website.
On May 7, 2025, the application window started, and it ends on May 31, 2025.
Selection Process
The recruitment procedure consists of two stages: a Written Examination and a Stenography Proficiency Test.
The Written Examination will be conducted in either OMR or Computer-Based format, featuring 200 objective multiple-choice questions at the level of 10+2, with a duration of 2 hours in total. The questions will be offered in both English and Hindi, except for the English Language section. Candidates who require a scribe will be granted an additional 40 minutes.
For the Stenography Proficiency Test, candidates are required to transcribe a 10-minute dictation at a rate of 80 words per minute, available in English or Hindi. This stenography test is solely qualifying, and only those who succeed in it will have their rankings determined based on their results in the written exam.
In case of tied scores, the merit list will be resolved using criteria such as fewer negative marks, an older date of birth, earlier attainment of the required qualifications, and the alphabetical order of the candidates’ first names.
The official notification states: “All applicants should confirm that they fulfil the essential qualifications and other criteria outlined in the advertisement by the deadline for online applications. No interim inquiries about eligibility will be accommodated.
The specified essential qualifications/experiences are the minimum requirements, and selection occurs through open competition. Therefore, merely meeting the minimum educational qualification/experience does not guarantee selection for the post.”
Application Fee
Candidates are required to submit a non-refundable application fee of Rs 500 through the payment gateway provided in the application form.
However, candidates from SC/ST/PwBD/Women/CSIR employees and Ex-servicemen are exempt from this fee. No alternative payment methods, such as demand drafts or postal orders, will be accepted.
